How many of you are dying for this film to be released in the US? Mexican actor, Gael Garcia Bernal, who is one of my favorite actors shall be staring in it. *swoon* I just hope this doesn't boast his career too much because I don't want him to be lost to Hollywood like his friend Diego Luna is on the verge of.

Wed, July 14, 2004 - 1:36 PMi went to see it last month - it is so so so great
pedro went back to a lot of his favourite themes
but his more mature narrative skill makes this such a playful and engaging story

Fri, September 9, 2005 - 10:45 PMI absolutely love this film, I think it is one of Almodovar's best, and lucky me, I just bought it on DVD for $10 cause my local video shop is going out of business... Woo Hoo!!! -

Re: La Mala Educacion
Sun, September 11, 2005 - 1:30 PMooh, I'm jealous. I saw it when it premiered in SF last winter with my best friend and his partner. Caliente! Though the convoluted ending was a bit much for non-film noir fans(I was fine with it but my boys complained.) Gael is hot like fire.

Re: La Mala Educacion
Thu, September 22, 2005 - 7:51 AMI finally saw this a couple of weeks ago and it is up there in the top 3 Almodovar movies.
What I can't fathom is why it got an NC-17 rating. I'm trying to play the sex scenes over in my head (rawr) and I don't know how those scenes are any "worse" than the simulated hetero sex you see in scores of R-rated movies every year out of Hollywood. -

Re: La Mala Educacion
Thu, September 22, 2005 - 9:55 AMI finally got around to watching this movie a couple of nights ago! Classic Almodovar! There is not an ALmodovar flick that I haven't enjoyed, but I would say that this one definately ranks in the top tier, along with "Que he hecho para mereceer esto", and Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del Monton", La Ley del Deseo and of course "Mujeres".
Gael Garcia is smokin' and has continued to prove himself a remarkable actor adept at proving himself in every role he has taken on.
